A Plague Tale: Requiemnow has a 60fps performance mode optionfor PC and current-gen consoles including Xbox Series X (but not Series S). Reportedly the performance mode will even come to the game on Nintendo Switch via cloud next week.

You may recall that the game was review bombed upon its release due to the 30fps cap. Nonetheless,APlague Tale: Requiemwas able to overcome that and see over a million playersexperience its horrific Black Plague/French Inquisition era world and riveting action-adventure/stealth gameplay.

While it is a little disappointing that the Xbox Series S won’t be getting the 60fps upgrade, is shouldn’t be entirely unexpected. Other current-gen releases have similarly been in the news lately for their lack of a 60fps performance mode. Most notably, Arkane Studio’sRedfallwas the subject of much criticism up to (and certainly after) its release whenit was announced the game would ship with a 30fps cap.
