It looks like Microsoft is working on some important updates for its Teams collaboration service. The Redmond giant is planning to release a new LinkedIn integration for one-on-one chats in Microsoft Teams that should make it easier for users to learn more about their coworkers, according to sources familiar with the company’s plans.
When Microsoft launched Teams, the company hoped that it would be used for more than just conversations. The company wanted to make it easy for people to do their work in Teams as well.
Now, Microsoft continues to expand with each passing day. The collaboration app is now more than just a workspace. With more tools and featuresit is no doubt it is scaling new heights.
New LinkedIn tab
Microsoft is continuing to add new features to its Teams collaboration platform. The company made sure tobeef up security to ensure safe browsingand now the latest addition will allow you to quickly pull up the contact information of people stored in LinkedIn.
It seems that Microsoft is planning to bring LinkedIn integration to its collaboration platform, as the company is testing a new LinkedIn tab for 1:1 chat in the desktop app.
It’s a relatively minor feature, but it could be helpful for keeping track of who you work with and where they came from.
At this point, we don’t know when exactly the new feature will start rolling out, but it’s possible that the first builds of Microsoft Teams with the new LinkedIn integration are currently being tested internally at Microsoft.

According to the roadmap, the feature will be here sooner than expected as the rollout will be by March 2022. The new integration aims to improve the collaboration experience for remote teams by showing information about team members directly within the app.
The report indicates that the LinkedIn integration will allow users to view information like work history, employment details, technical expertise, and background information of the team member directly within Microsoft Teams.
Your Teams on OneDrive now
Another important feature is coming to Microsoft Teams is the ability to quickly find your shared files from OneDrive.
The introduction of this new feature suggests that Microsoft wants to make it easier for its Office 365 customers to access their shared Teams files according to theMicrosoft 365 roadmap. Currently, if you want to access these files, you have to go to your OneDrive on a browser and then click on the ‘Shared with me section.
These are not the only updates as the tech giant also hasnew features on the horizonso stay put as it is likely to be a packed year.
