December’s Windows 10 ‘Patch Tuesday’ updates are rolling out now

Microsoft rolled out its latest batch ofWindows 10Patch Tuesday updates today, bringing fixes to nearly all versions of the OS. This month’s updates are mainly focused on security fixes, particularly with regards to Microsoft Edge Legacy, the Microsoft Graphics Component, Windows Media, Windows Fundamentals, and Windows Virtualization. As usual, there are no new features tagging along in these builds.

If you’re running Windows 10 version 2004 or the 20H2 update, you’ll see OS builds19041.685 and 19042.685, respectively. Here’s a look at the short list of highlights:

The updates for Windows 10 versions 1909 and earlier are largely the same. However, the highlights for versions 1803 and earlier contain an additional fix:

As with all Patch Tuesday updates, these are available to download for supported versions of Windows 10 now via Windows Update. Versions that are out of their support windows will receive the updates for organizations that have paid for extended security updates.
