Dell introduced its refresh rate breaking Alienware monitor, the Alienware 500Hz Gaming Monitor atCES earlier this yearand the company is following up that announcement with a top-shelf variant that offers a revised design, AMD FreeSync Premium technology and VESA AdaptiveSync Display certification.
The newer version of the Alienware 500Hz panel (AW2524HF) still delivers a 500/480Hz (native) refresh rate with 0.5ms gray to gray response times for the smoothest ghosting-free gaming experience around.
However, with the addition of AMD FreeSync Premium, gamers will now be unincumbered by GPU support and worrying if their monitors can keep up with their other hardware.
The IPS paneling supports 99% sRGB color accuracy at wider angles as well as incorporating blue light technologies in the form of TUV-certified ComfortView Plus Low Blue light hardware solutions.
As for the new design, the base of the monitor takes up a hexagonal shape rather than the elongated V as many other monitors adhere to so that it can be placed in most modern desktop set ups. The stand is fully adjustable, meanwhile Dell managed to tack on a retractable headset arm for gamers to rest their headphones on.
As for ports and connectivity, Dell seems to have chucked the kitchen sink at the back and bottom of them monitor:
The Alienware 500HZ Gaming Monitor (AW2524HF) will be available for purchase on September 12, 2023 starting at $649.99 USD.
