Users ofGroove Musicwoke up to an announcement from Microsoft a few weeks ago over their partnership withSpotify, the world’s largestmusicstreaming service.

With this partnership,Groove MusicPass streaming servicewill come to an endas of December 31, 2017. However, you can still transferGroove MusictoSpotifyby directly moving your curated playlists and music collection.

Groove MusicPass users will also get 60 free days ofSpotify Premiumunder this arrangement, but once the December deadline lapses, theGroove MusicPass streaming service will be discontinued.

You’ll still be able to listen to anymusicyou bought and downloaded so that won’t disappear.

Prior to moving yourmusictoSpotify, you’ll receive a temporary access request to the following:

Before you transferGroove MusictoSpotify, you need to ensure you have the latestGroove Musicapp on your computer or device.

An update for this was made available forWindows 10and Xbox One devices in mid-October this year, so once you have the updatedapp, you can transferGroove MusictoSpotifyand enjoy your music collections and curated playlists with a few clicks.

Step 1: Launch the newest Groove Music app

Step 2: Log in to your Spotify account

If you have created aSpotifyaccount, log in to it with your username and password. Do the same for an existing account.

Step 3: Transfer Groove Music to Spotify

Once you’re signed in toSpotify, yourmusic collectionand curated playlists will be moved fromGroove MusictoSpotify. This will take a few minutes to complete.

Step 4: Play your music

Once yourmusicplaylists and collection is moved toSpotify, themusiclibrary will have all yourmusicwhich you can start playing and listening to from theapp.

Once you transferGroove MusictoSpotify, all themusicyou moved that matches with what is inSpotify’s catalog will reflect on yourSpotifylibrary and playlists.

Additionally, you will still be able to playmusiccontent stored on your hard drive, or in cloud storage such as OneDrive through the Groove Music app on your computer.

Note:If you’re usingGroove Musicapp on your mobile device, you can transferGroove MusictoSpotifyon an updatedWindows 10or Xbox One device.

Once you launchGroove Musicapp, you’ll get a pop-up message inviting you to transfer yourmusictoSpotify. Select it and follow the instructions to start the transfer process, then you can listen to your favoritemusicviaSpotifyon your device.
