HyperX shows off Xbox Series X|S controller charging dock for CES 2021

CES 2021 brings new peripherals from HyperX, including a new Xbox charging station from the gaming-geared manufacturer, designed with considerations forXbox Series XandXbox Series S. It’s among the first wave of accessories targeting Microsoft’s latest console generation, compatible with the newest Xbox controller, as well as previous Xbox One variants.
The HyperX ChargePlay Duo controller charging station riffs on an earlier version for Xbox One controllers, powering two gamepads back-to-back in the cradle. Its $39.99 price tag includes the dock with two rechargeable 1400mAh battery packs, capable of simultaneously charging two controllers. The device also has an LED indicator to monitor charging status, with a straightforward drop-in design, weighted to avoid sliding on your table.
The ChargePlay Duo once existed as an Xbox One accessory but has returned with considerations across consoles. Four battery doors feature in the box, a pair for both Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One controllers, ensuring compatibility across the lineup.
HyperX has only talked about its U.S. release, headed to stores this February for $39.99. It looks to join some of thebest chargers for Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S, with only a select range designed for the latest Xbox right now.
You can pick up rival products like thePowerA Dual Charging Station for Xbox Series X|Sfor $25 in the meantime, which delivers similar functionality, albeit with cuts to battery capacity and build quality.
