Key notes
It’s that time again. Microsoft is back with another update for Windows 10 22H2 users. This time, the update, which is billed as KB5026435, brings a plethora of interesting improvements, including the return of the hotly-wanted improved search box experience.
The search box will now appear on all types of taskbars, including top, bottom, regular, or small icons taskbar. Users can use the search box to easily access apps, files, settings, and more from Windows and the web.
You may recall that Microsoft released theKB5025297update in April 2023, intending to reintroduce theimproved search box. However, they decided to postpone it to a later release. Now, the feature is finally being rolled out with the current update.
However, if you prefer their previous search experience, it can easily be restored by using the taskbar context menu or responding to a dialog that appears when using search.
All search box fusses aside, what other features and improvements does KB5026435 bring, you may ask? Here’s everything we’ve got so far.
What other features are coming in the KB5026435 update?
If you can recall, Microsoft had planned toend supportfor the latest version of Windows 10, the 22H2.
As previously mentioned, security updates would continue to be available until October 14, 2025. While several years remain until this happens, it can be difficult to bid farewell to a polarizing OS that has received mixed reactions from users.
