Key notes
Windows 11 seems to be the gift that keeps on giving. Lately, if you have noticed, there are different sounds when you toggle between dark and light mode. Microsoft has something in store for you.
As part of its ‘calm the technology down,’ Microsoft has embarked on a journey to apply quieter and more tranquil sounds during the night. Think about it, when someone delivers a message, the tonal variation determines how you receive and perceive the message.
What’s the main focus?
According to BleepingComputer, the Windows 10 sounds were sharp. Their wavelengths were intense, and it was hard for users to concentrate. Windows 11 focused on calming down technology. Re-evaluation of the soundscape was necessary.
The engineering of the sound is likened to the visual design of Windows 11 as a package. If you are not yet up to speed with theWindows 11 features, you need to familiarize yourself with all the amazing features in store for you. Although the changes are not huge, if you pay close attention, you will notice that small details were the key focus to soften the overall experience.
The new sounds are magnificent
The new sounds are softer because they now have a more rounded wavelength. They still serve their purpose of alerting you without being overwhelming.
If you are wondering why the sounds only apply to dark mode, you are not alone. Microsoft adds that the dark and light options put into consideration people with poor and low vision. The sound options are supposed to allow them to hear light and dark topics.
In the past, users complained of receiving updates much later on Microsoft tools. Outlook, for instance, took a while beforeMicrosoft added the dark mode version.
Some of the reactions to the new sounds from users largely welcome the changes.
