A new character is on the horizon for Blizzard Entertainment’s MOBA, as Mei from Overwatch is coming to Heroes of the Storm. Asdetailedin some patch notes, Mei is available right now on the Public Test Realm (PTR) alongside a Nexus Anomaly that is bringing erratic weather patterns (and effects) to the battlefield.

Mei’s abilities revolve around ice, allowing her to slow down her enemies' speed and reduce their damage, while increasing the rate of her own attacks. Her Heroic Abilities allow her to summon an Avalanche or Ice Wall, crushing and trapping foes with ease. The Nexus Anomaly is also affecting things in a strange way, as Rain Storms, Snow Flurries and Foggy Mists bring different enhancements. Some maps will only have one specific weather anomaly, while others will receive a random effect.

While it doesn’t get as many major updates as it used to, Heroes of the Storm is still being supported with new characters such asDeathwing from World of Warcraft. Like the rest of the cast from Overwatch, Mei will also be appearing inOverwatch 2, which does not currently have a release date.

Heroes and villains from all walks

This starter pack includes five characters for the game: Sonya, Zeratul, Zagara, Li Li and Jaina, alongside an exclusive Golden Tiger Mount. It’s the perfect way to get started in Heroes of the Storm.
