Microsoft has announced that it will be launching a new Microsoft 365 subscription dubbed Microsoft 365 Basic. The company is set to make this release on January 30. To access this new offering you either need to make a monthly payment of either $1.99 or $19.99 annually. What’s in store for you once you subscribe to this plan?

First off, the free option will still be available even after Microsoft launches this new basic subscription The only difference is that it will have more features in comparison, that is, 100 GB of storage, an Outlook email as well as improved security features.

That said, you can still make use of the free Microsoft 365 tier which will feature all the benefits that it has been providing throughout. However, if you are looking for a little bit more, you can subscribe to the Microsoft 365 Personal option at $6.99 per month. When comparing the new Basic plan to the Personal one, you’ll notice that besides the obvious difference in storage, the Basic plan won’t grant users access to the desktop versions of Word, Excel, and PowerPoint apps. However, you can access these apps both on the web and from your mobile phone.
