Microsoft released a new update for its browser Edge in the Stable Channel bumping it up toversion 113.0.1774.35. The update ships with several feature updates as well as the usual policy updates.
Here’s everything you need to know about this update:
First up, the update brings significant enhancements to enhanced security mode. The feature is essentially designed to provide an extra layer of security for users while using the web. But this new release adds a new feature that lets users switch their security level settings between Balanced and Strict modes in a bid to enhance the browsing experience.
Next up, the new update also transitions Microsoft Autoupdate to EdgeUpdater for macOS. This change will only affect Microsoft Edge on macOS, therefore, if you use the feature to block browser updates, you’ll have to switch to the new EdgeUpdater UpdateDefault policy to maintain the same arrangement.
Additionally, the update ships with a new policy for PDF View Settings. The RestorePdfView policy in Microsoft Edge will allow users to get back to the last position they were in the PDF when it was last opened. This is regardless of whether the policy is enabled or not.
And finally, the Microsoft Root Store policy has been updated and will be supported in Microsoft Edge versions 113 and 114. However, it won’t be part of the Microsoft Edge 115 release.
Aside from these feature updates, the release also features some depreciated and new policies. We invite you to check outMicrosoft’s changelogfor more details.
Microsoft Edge should auto-update to the latest version, but if it doesn’t, you can trigger it manually. Just head to the browser’s menu, chooseHelp and FeedbackthenAbout Microsoft Edgeand wait for the update to download, and then restart.
In related news, Microsoft is busy at work trying tointegrate Bing into Edge furtherwith reports indicating that Bing Chat has been incorporated into the browser’s context menu.
