There is a new addition to the Microsoft Flight Simulator fleet:the Carenado PC12. The plane is available in the in-game marketplace as of today.

The Carenado PC12 is described as “a single-engine, low-wing, multi-mission utility aircraft” from Switzerland-based aerospace company Pilatus Aircraft. The Carenado PC12 is crewed by one or two, and can seat as many as nine passengers.

The plane was developed in the late 1980s, and took its first flight in May, 1991. As of today more than 1,700 have been produced. It is the most successful aircraft in the single-engine, turbine-powered class. The Carenado PC12 is widely used in regional airlines and as a cargo plane, as well as in military and law enforcement.

Measuring over 47 ft in length, with a wingspan of 53ft, 5in the plane is powered by a Pratt & Whitney Canada PT6A-67P turboprop engine with up to 1,200 horsepower. It can fly up to 2,120 miles in a single run and has a cruising speed of 328 mph. The Carenado PC12 can fly at 30,000 above sea level.

Microsoft Flight Simulator is the premier flying sim. The franchise celebrates its 40 year anniversary this November. The Standard Game of the Year Edition is available on both Xbox and PCGame Pass.
