Microsoft gives “valued customers” the opportunity to purchase an Xbox Series X bundle

If Microsoft’s Xbox Series X|S consoles still remain very hard to find due to scalpers and the ongoing chip shortage, the company has quietly started a new experiment to let Xbox fans get their hands on a console. As reported byThe Verge, the Redmond giant has started sending emails to select Microsoft customers to offer them an opportunity to purchase an Xbox Series X bundle.

Microsoft’s email mention that this offer is only targeting “valued Microsoft customers,” and emphasizes that the bundle are available for purchase on a first-come, first-served basis with a limit of one bundle per order, and two bundles per 30-day period. “There is only a limited supply available, and receiving this email does not guarantee that there will be bundles remaining for your purchases when you click the link,” the email also says.

It’s not clear if many Microsoft Store customers are currently receiving these emails, but this experiment is apparently restricted to the US. If you do receive one of these emails while the bundles are still in stock, you’ll get an additional controller plus a free game to choose between Madden NFL 22, GTA V, Rust, Far Cry 6, Hasbro Family Fun Pack, Mortal Kombat 11 Ultimate, Insurgency Sandstorm, and Diablo 2 Resurrected.

If Microsoft’s Xbox Series X|S regularly pop up on the Microsoft Store and other retailers, the consoles may not become widely available before 2023. In the meantime, we recently learned that theentry-level Xbox Series S had outsold the Series Xin “several key markets.”
