Microsoft may be preparing to launch an all-digital Xbox Series X model.
Microsoft is reportedly gearing up tolaunch an all-digital Xbox Series Xmodel. This new console would do away with the disc drive, enabling Microsoft to sell it at a lower price point. The all-digital Xbox Series X would be a good option for gamers who only purchase digital games, and it would also be a more affordable choice for families.
Multiple vulnerabilities found in Microsoft products, including Teams
Microsoft hasissued a high-risk security alert warning of multiple vulnerabilities in its products, including Teams. These vulnerabilities could allow attackers to take control of a user’s account or device, steal data, or disrupt services. Microsoft has released patches for these vulnerabilities, and users are advised to update their software as soon as possible.
Microsoft Authenticator to trial WhatsApp code delivery for enhanced security
Microsoft Authenticator is getting a new feature that will allow users toreceive verification codes for two-factor authentication (2FA) via WhatsApp. This is seen as a security-enhancing feature, as SMS messages and some other forms of receiving verification codes have inherent security weaknesses. The WhatsApp code delivery feature is currently in trial, and it is not yet clear when it will be rolled out to all users.
New Zealand regulator gives nod to Microsoft’s acquisition of Activision Blizzard
TheNew Zealand Commerce Commission (NZCC) has approved Microsoft’s acquisition of Activision Blizzard. The NZCC’s decision is the latest indication that the acquisition is likely to reach a conclusion in the not-too-distant future, with the ultimate decision resting with the UK’s CMA.
