A compelling new partnership has just been announcedbetween Microsoft and Aptos Labs. The collaboration is set to create an AI-powered tool named Aptos Assistance, rumored to compete with OpenAI’s popular platform, ChatGPT.
The Integrative Efforts
Microsoft is no novice to the AI world; it has been consistently pushing the boundaries of ChatGPT and blockchain technology, investing billions into OpenAI, one of its principal supporters. Notably, earlier this year, the software giant integrated ChatGPT into several products, inclusive of its native browser Bing.
Now, this new strategic alliance with Aptos Labs seeks to further explore the confluence of AI, blockchain, and cloud services held by Microsoft’s Azure platform. This joint effort underscores a key shift in approach, emphasizing integrative technological solutions directed at aiding developers and users in accessing data on the Aptos ecosystem.
As part of the partnership, Aptos Labs has planned to migrate some of its validators to Azure. Moreover, Microsoft is inclined to include the cryptocurrency’s programming language, known as Move, into GitHub. The company is steadily advocating for its utilization with notable financial institutions.
Rashmi Misra, the General Manager of A.I. and emerging technologies at Microsoft shared her excitement about the pioneering initiative.
The intersection of AI and blockchain is one of the most interesting combinations of emerging technologies. By fusing Aptos Labs’ technology with the Microsoft Azure Open AI Service capabilities, we aim to democratize the use of blockchain, she said, as reported by Fortune.
The CEO and co-founder of Aptos Labs, Mo Shaikh, shares Misra’s enthusiasm. Shaikh asserts that AI and blockchain technologies can operate harmoniously and potentially limit the frequency of false statements. He discerns that blockchain, with its verified information, can provide an added layer of integrity that might sometimes be lacking in AI models.
If you look at a lot of the large models out there, they’re ingesting a lot of information that may or may not necessarily be true. What a blockchain provides is real information, verified information. We didn’t want to go off onto the side and just hack something together just for the hype of A.I., Shaikh told Fortune about their partnership with Microsoft.
The collaboration between Microsoft and Aptos Labs, and the impending launch of Aptos Assistance, indicates an exciting new frontier in the world of AI and blockchain technology.
