The Xbox Games Showcase 2023 and Starfield Direct event happened this week, and needless to say, the news is exciting. Starfield is coming to Windows PCs and Xbox, and while the video game will eat a lot of your storage space,it’s actually moderate on the system requirements.

Video games such as Forza Horizon, and the hotly awaited Senua II are also coming to Xbox soon, and on the newly announcedGame Pass for NVIDIA GeForce Now. This means you will be able to play them on any device that GeForce Now streams to.

You’ll be able to play video games on low-spec PCs, Macs, Chromebooks, mobile devices, TVs, and more. It would be nice if a new game from the Halo franchise would be there, but no. Unfortunately, at this year’s event, any news from Halo was non-existent.

We’re not the only ones who’ve noticed it, because fans of the beloved franchise are asking themselves the same. HasMicrosoft forgotten about Halo?Well, kind of. Not entirely, but kind of.

What are the Halo franchise’s future plans?

As well all know,Halo Infinite was released almost 2 years ago, in 2021, 20 years after the first Halo game. The video game was well received, with some even calling it a return to the form for the series. Commercially, it had a lot of success, and by January 2022, a month after its release, Halo Infinite crossed the 20 million players mark.

Microsoft released a roadmap for Halo Infinite for the Fall/Winter seasons, and they managed to add a lot of new features, new maps, new weapons, and even new story plots in a couple of patches that felt like expansions.

But ever since, there were no news about Halo from Microsoft. With Halo Infinite released, and the new Xbox consoles already out, it’s no wonder people are asking if there is any new Halo game in sight.

And apparently, there is a roadmap for Halo. Xbox CEO Phil Spencer and Xbox Game Studios head Matt Booty were liveon a Giant Bomb live stream on all things Xbox, and they actually confirmed something is brewing for Halo.

There’s a pretty good roadmap, you start to think about the future of Halo, what does that roadmap look like.

So, while we don’t know anything yet, it seems a lot of things are coming for Halo. We can only take a guess. However, based on how things look right now, a new Halo game will be similar to Halo Infinite, story-wise.

But the period of remakes is upon us. For Playstation,Konami is reviving and remaking the beloved Silent Hill 2, more than 20 years after the video game was released.

Can we hope for a remake of Halo: Combat Evolved from Microsoft and 343 Industries? It would be very interesting to see how can they capture the magic and thrill of the first game. Will Bungie join in and work on it too?

Truth is, we can only hope.
