Microsoft had a significant last week with the introduction of two new offerings. On Tuesday, at Inspire 2023, they unveiled Bing Chat Enterprise andmultimodal Visual Search in Chat, whichwere made available later last week on Friday. They also announced thatBing Chat to remain a cost-free service.
Visual Search in Chat
Visual Search in Chat uses OpenAI’s GPT-4 model. It allows users to submit images, whether captured personally or from other sources, and ask related questions to Bing Chat. The system comprehends the image context, interprets it, and provides answers to inquiries about it. For instance, users can inquire about the architecture of a building captured in a photo or seek lunch ideas based on the contents of their fridge.
The feature is now accessible on Bing.com for desktop, mobile apps, and Edge Sidebar. It will soon be accessible on Edge Mobile and is planned to be integrated into Bing Chat Enterprise.
Bing Chat Enterprise
In addition to Visual Search, Microsoft also launched Bing Chat Enterprise to cater to users who expressed interest in utilizing Bing Chat for professional purposes while ensuring data protection. The enterprise version offers commercial data protection to meet these demands.
Bing Chat Enterprise is now available at no extra cost for commercial customers licensed for Microsoft 365 E3, E5, Business Standard, and Business Premium. IT administrators with eligible licenses can enable Bing Chat Enterprise for their organization using instructions provided by Microsoft.
