What you need to know
After weeks of testing in the beta program,Minecraftis now pushing out its1.16.100update to all platforms, building on top ofthe Nether Updatewith a huge number of parity improvements, bug fixes, creator features, and more. This will likely be the last update for the Nether Update before Mojang Studios really goes to work on Minecraft’s next major update, theCaves and Cliffs Update, which is coming inSummer 2021.
If you’ve been having any issues with Minecraft’s Nether Update, it’s highly recommended you install this update as soon as possible, as there are a ton of improvements and fixes here. Also, if you’re on Nintendo Switch, you may have gotten this update early, which would have broken cross-play support. Those problems should be fixed as everyone else receives the update today.
If you’re child plays Minecraft, this update will make the game a lot more stable and reliable for them. If they don’t, Minecraft is one of the Best Games for Kids on Xbox for a reason, and can even be educational, like with theBuild the Vote initiative.
