Minecraftis continuing to put up impressive numbers, as Mojang Studios revealed duringMinecraft Livethat Minecraft has crossed 131 million monthly active users. In a press release, Mojang Studios states that “Since the start of the pandemic, we’ve seen an increase of nearly 90% in multiplayer sessions and our community has grown to nearly 132 million players each month.”

Additionally, Minecraft has now been played in every country and territory around the world this year, including Antarctica and Vatican City.

For context on this kind of monthly growth, Mojant Studios previously announced that Minecraft passed200 million copies soldand 126 million active users earlier in 2020. The franchise is growing in different directions across genres, withMinecraft Dungeonscontinuing to receive new DLC and update. Meanwhile, the next addition to the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate roster is none other thanMinecraft Steve.
