MSI has identified and resolved the“unsupported processor” Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) issuewith their Intel 700 and 600 Series motherboards. This issue seemed to be related to firmware settings associated with Intel Hybrid Architecture, and it only affected Intel’s 13th Gen Core i9 processors with specific versions of Windows 11 and Windows 10 updates.
According to areport from last month, after updating to Windows 11 KB5029351, certain MSI motherboard users have experienced a “Blue Screen of Death” error. Upon installing the update, some Windows 11 users have been confronted with this error message: “UNSUPPORTED_PROCESSOR.”
The Blue Screen of Death (BSoD) is a screen of error that appears unexpectedly on a Windows computer. It is caused by a fatal error in Windows that prevents the computer from continuing to run.
MSI has taken action to resolve a problem by releasing BIOS updates for affected motherboards. These updates contain an update to the Intel CPU uCode, which will prevent any further “UNSUPPORTED_PROCESSOR” error messages. If you’re experiencing this issue, you can expect the updates to be available on MSI’s official website. All affected motherboard models will receive updates by the end of September.
