Afghanistan’s net run rate is so poor that their chance of overtaking New Zealand’s one is virtually nil.
Sri Lanka’s focus is on making the top eight in the table and thereby qualifying for the Champions Trophy in 2025, so they still have much to play for. In their world cup meetings, Sri Lanka marginally have the edge on New Zealand with six wins to New Zealand’s five.
