Devolver Digital soon looks to bring Observation to Xbox One, its 2019 sci-thriller, which first debuted exclusively on PlayStation 4 and the Epic Games Store for PC.
The unsettling space station adventure hails from independent studio No Code, retracing the steps that led to Dr. Emma Fisher’s disappearance, through the perspective of its onboard artificial intelligence. The all-too-familiar tale for any 2001: A Space Odyssey fan, players control the station’s various cameras and systems — with puzzle gameplay that saw the title receive the BAFTA Games Award for British Game earlier in 2020.
While Observation hasn’t received a formal Xbox One unveiling, a newly-surfacedMicrosoft Storelisting points to an imminent release on the console. The page, first spotted by@h0x0don Twitter, suggests an Xbox One and Windows 10 PC debut on June 25, 2020 — tailing the recent Steam and GOG releases.
The game will supportXbox Play Anywhere, Microsoft’s cross-platform initiative, translating purchases, and progress between Xbox One and PC. While the feature hasn’t received much love in recent months, its inclusion will be welcome for players in both systems.
Observation initially hit store shelves with a focus on PS4 and PC, securing exclusivity deals with Sony and Epic Games for its PC storefront. Those limited-time deals appear to be expiring, making next week an ideal opportunity to pick up this eerie sci-fi adventure. Devolver Digital is yet to issue a formal announcement, with pricing still unknown.
