Phil Spencer has played ‘quite a bit’ of Elden Ring, says it is Miyazaki’s most ambitious game yet

FromSoftware’sElden Ringis something of a mystery. First announced at the E3 2019 Xbox showcase as a collaboration between FromSoftware President Hidetaka Miyazaki and author George R. R. Martin, there’s been basically no update since that reveal over a year ago. Still, the game definitely has gameplay, something hammered in by the fact Head of Xbox Phil Spencer has played Elden Ring.

In an interview withGameSpot, Phil Spencer talked about the launch of the Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S, as well as different upcoming. When the topic of the much-anticipated Elden Ring came up, Spencer stated “I’ve seen actually quite a bit. I’ve played quite a bit.”

While he couldn’t given any real further details into the game, Spencer also said that he’s played all of the games from Miyazaki over the past decade and that “…this is clearly the most ambitious game that he’s done.”

With that reassurance that parts of the game can be played, hopefully we get to see more of Elden Ring sometime in the near future. In the meantime, if you’re looking for a new FromSoftware game to play, the studio’s classicDemon’s Soulsis being remade for the PS5.
