If you’re still running the Windows 10 November 2019 Update (1909) or the Windows 10 October 2020 Update (20H2), Microsofthas a warning for you. These versions of the operating system are hitting end of servicing life soon, and it’s time for upgrade to the newest version of Windows 10 (via Neowin.)

Word of the end of service has been present on the the respectedWindows Lifecycleproductpagesfor a while, but Microsoft recently updatedthe Windows message centerwith an announcement, too. There, Microsoft warns that Come May 10, the Home and Pro versions of Windows 10 20H2 and all versions of Windows 10 version 1909 will no longer get security updates. After the date, there won’t be security patches, which means the devices might be vulnerable to viruses, and other issues.

Anyone on these versions of Windows 10 Home, or on non-managed business devices that are several months at end of servicing, will be automatically updated to the latest version of Windows 10 via Windows Update. You’ll always be able to choose a time to restart, and complete the update.

Do note that the most current version of Windows 10 is Windows 10, version 21H2, otherwise known as the Windows 10 November 2021 Update. Microsoft is shifting toonce a year featured updatesfor Windows 10 and Windows 11, so be sure to update now to ensure you won’t be left behind.
