PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds (PUBG)was one of the first games to popularize the now mainstream “battle royale” genre, which drops a ton of players onto a map and has them scavenge for gear and weapons, and battle it out to be the last player (or team) standing. Many other games have arrived and challenged PUBG, but the game still maintains a sizeable playerbase, especially with its mobile port on Android and iOS. A new report fromPremier Games Press Centrereveals how Krafton Inc., the parent company behind PUBG and other products, is working with Microsoft to host its entire portfolio on Microsoft Azure.

PUBG was already running on Azure, at least on the Xbox, but this now expands to every PUBG version on PC, console, and (most notably), mobile. With Microsoft Azure, Krafton Inc. hopes to offer superior security and privacy with its products, something that’s best achieved with Microsoft’s cloud-based solution. Azure is one of the biggest cloud platforms in the world, and hosts many of the top games and services, includingMinecraft, whichrecently completed its migration.

In related news, theXbox Series XandXbox Series Sare launching to the world today, and PUBG will beplayable on the Xbox Series X|S day one. Because of a recent update in October, PUBG will be able to run at a stable 60fps on the Xbox Series X, something the game has always struggled with on consoles. In November, PUBG will also release an update allowing the Xbox Series S to push 60fps as well, albeit at a lower resolution. If you lamented the performance issues with PUBG on consoles, next-gen’s more powerful CPU’s appear to have finally fixed them.
