Rumor: Halo x Fortnite crossover, or compelling fake?

What you need to know
Recently, leaks of what appears to be a specialHalocrossover event in Fortnite have emerged on Twitter. Based on everything that has been leaked so far, there will be three new cosmetics available to players: A Master Chief skin, a Mongoose emote, and a Pelican glider. You can take a look at all three in the Tweet below:

Additionally, there arereportsthat there will be a special Capture the Flag mode in Fortnite that’s inspired by the one offered in the Halo games.
While the credibility of these leaksisin question, it’s undeniable that the assets that have appeared on social media look very official and believable, albeit at low resolutions. We’re expecting that the leaks are true and that the crossover will be officially announced soon, but ultimately, only time will tell.
Something else worth noting is that this crossover is most likely the source of the rumor thatHalo Infinite may potentially have a battle royale mode. Overall,we like the idea, but it’s probably not going to happen since 343 Industries called the rumors “unfounded.”
Fortnite: Battle Royale is available now for free onXbox Series X,Xbox Series S, PlayStation 5, Xbox One and PlayStation 4 consoles, Nintendo Switch, and Windows 10 PCs. Meanwhile,Halo Infiniteis expected to release sometime in 2021 on Xbox Series X and S, Xbox One consoles, and Windows 10 PCs.
