Update, February 5 (10:37 am ET): The interview has now been pulled.

Akira Yamoaka is an accomplished composer, well known for his work on the Silent Hill soundtracks. More recently, he composed part of the soundtrack forThe Medium,a horror game from Polish studio Bloober Team. Now, it seems like we’ll know what else Yamoaka is working on later this year.

Speaking withAl Hub, when asked when people would see his next project, Yamaoka answered through a translator that we’ll probably hear something “this summer” and that “I think it’s kinda the one you’re hoping to hear about.”

Now, it’s important to note that he doesn’t ever say he’s working on a Silent Hill game, or that he’s working with Konami. This could be something completely separate from that game and company. With that said, the phrase he chose to use is absolutely eyebrow-raising, so it’ll be interesting to see just what’s going on. Overall, The Medium has received favorable reviews, though our editor Carli Velocciarguesit’s not the game Silent Hill fans need right now.

More horror games are coming years out from all over the gaming industry, with former Sony Japan studio employees founding a team called Bokeh Game Studio, which is working on amultiplatform horror gamewhile aiming to release it at some point in 2023. Meanwhile, the co-creator of Dead Space is working on a title calledThe Callisto Protocol, which is being aimed for a 2022 release.
