Star Wars: Squadrons is receiving a new map and new starfighters in a free update

What you need to know
Star Wars: Squadrons released back in October and while the developers have previously sharedsmall updatesadding neat cosmetics for players to enjoy, there’s even more on the way. Today, the developers at Motive Studiosharedthat several free updates are coming, including one that’ll add the Fostar Haven map from the prologue of the campaign to Fleet Battles and Dogfight, joining thelist of current maps.
Additionally, two new starfighters are being added to theexisting roster. The two new ships are the B-Wing and the TIE Defender, which are being added for the New Republic and Galactic Empire respectively.
The B-Wing is classified as a Bomber, while the TIE Defender is classified as a Fighter but both will come with some unique features and abilities that should shake up the existing balance of fights. Finally, custom matches are also on the way, so if you just want to set something up to play solely with a group of friends, you’ll be covered.
Inour review, editor Russell Holly stated that Star Was: Squadrons is “Star Wars dogfighting at its finest, with a multiplayer fun that won’t quit.

Star Wars: Squadrons places players in Vanguard Squadron or Titan Squadron with vicious dogfights and a variety of different starships. It’s even got full cross-play, so you can play with your friends no matter where you buy it.
