The Surface Go is the smallest 2-in-1 device in Microsoft’s Surface lineup. Support for the originalSurface Go Advanced with LTEis ending today. The device debuted in November 2018. Microsoft promises a minimum of four years of device support for all Surface devices, though some devices have been given an exception such as the Surface Pro 3 which was supported for almost eight years.
If you own the first Surface Go, remember Windows updates and firmware updates are handled separately. Your device will continue to receive Windows 10 updates and new features as long as Microsoft supports the operating system. Windows 10 support is currently scheduled to end in 2025. The original Surface Go with LTE is not compatible with Windows 11.
It’s worth noting that if you’re not ready to upgrade you can continue using your device without Microsoft support.
