What you need to know

Microsoft’sSurface Pro 5(also known as the Surface Pro 5th gen) andSurface Pro 6each have a firmware update available. The updates started rolling out on February 2 and include improvements to the stability and security of the devices.

The Surface Pro 6 firmware update only has one change listed on itsrelease notes:

The Surface Pro 5 firmware update’srelease notesstate the same changes as those seen for the Surface Pro 6, but it has a different version number.

As is the case with most firmware updates, these don’t include any new features. Instead, they focus on improving the performance of each device.
