AmazonStudios is reportedly developing another TV spin-off of its incredibly popular superhero showThe Boys.

PerVariety, the e-commerce giant’s entertainment division has been developing another side project withinThe Boysuniverse for some time, with the series' next potential off-shoot believed to be a Spanish-language show set in Mexico.

Unsurprisingly, details are being kept under lock and key, but Variety’s sources suggest that Gareth Dunnet-Alcocer, who wrote the criminally underratedDCEUmovieBlue Beetle, is attached to pen its scripts. Eric Kripke, showrunner for, and executive producer on,The Boys' main series, is also apparently part of the unnamedPrime Videoproject’s creative team.

Perhaps the most interesting news aboutThe Boys' Spanish-language spin-off, though, is who else is rumored to be involved. Variety claims thatAndor’s Diego Luna andWerewolf by Night’s Gael Garcia Bernal, who are long-time friends and founded Mexican production company La Corriente del Golfo, are also in talks to join as executive producers.

That might not be the extent of their involvement, however. In a separate report,Deadlinesays Luna and Bernal could star in the series, although theStar WarsandMarvelactors are only expected to play supporting roles. Sources close to the project have also told Deadline that Amazon hasn’t sent out casting calls for the spin-off yet, so it’s unclear if the duo will even feature in on-camera roles.

TechRadar reached out to Amazon for comment but had not heard back by the time of publication.

Amazon has already released two spin-offs set in the world ofThe Boys, with animated anthology seriesThe Boys: Presents Diabolicaland live-action college-based offshootGen Varriving in March 2022 and September 2023 respectively. The pair were received positively by fans and critics alike, so it’s no great surprise to learn that Amazon wants to flesh out its take on Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson’s beloved comic book series. Given the confidence Amazon andThe Boysfanbase has in the mainline series and its spin-offs, more projects would certainly be welcome.
