Chivalry 2, the sequel to the original skill-based melee title Chivalry: Medieval Warfare, is coming to Xbox One on December 18, 2020 at 10 AM PST / 1 PM EST for Alpha testing and will be available to members of the Xbox Insider Program. The Alpha test runs until December 21, 2020 at 10 AM PST / 1 PM EST. Players can sign up for the Alpha right now by going to their Xbox Insider Hub app on their Xbox One and going to Insider content > Games > Chivalry 2 Alpha. You should sign up right away if you plan to participate, as the developer of the game, Torn Banner Studios, has noted that access will be limited. Notably, the Alpha is available onXbox Series XandXbox Series S, so to play you’ll need to use an Xbox One console. Interestingly, Xbox players will also be able to play with PC players in the Alpha, which shows that Chivalry 2’s crossplay feature is in a working state. Chivalry 2 looks to be perfect for fans of hacking and slashing, as the entire game is built around a skill-based melee system complete with tons of different moves like swings, thrusts, drags and accelerations, timed blocks, and more. There will also be a variety of different armors and weapons to choose from, giving players plenty of flexibility. In terms of the overall structure, Chivalry 2 will feature massive 64-player multiplayer battles on medieval-themed maps that are filled with cool sandbox elements like ballistas, catapults, oil droppers, and more.

Chivalry 2 is slated to release sometime in 2021 on all Xbox consoles, PlayStation 4 and 5, and Windows 10 PCs on the Epic Games Store. The price hasn’t officially been revealed yet, but an early preorder listing on GameStop has the game at $40.
