This month’s Xbox update has released. As always, the Xbox team has found new ways to update the Xbox experience with several new improvements and added features. Let’s have a look at what is included in the September Update.
Customize the Xbox button color on your Xbox Elite Wireless Controller Series 2
You can now change the color of the Xbox button on your Xbox Elite Wireless Controller Series 2! Just go to the Xbox Accessories App on your Xbox or Windows PC with the controller connected, choose your profile, then select the color tab. There you can change the color and brightness of the Xbox button’s glow. If you don’t see this feature, try restarting your machine.
The Xbox Elite Wireless Controller Series 2 – Core in white also releases today!
Speaking of the Xbox Elite Wireless Controller Series 2, the “Core in white” version is now available. The controller comes with all the same features as others from the Series 2 Elite line: adjustable-tension thumbsticks, wrap-around rubberized grip, and shorter hair trigger locks, along with the new stylish color option.The complete component packis also still available at $59.99 USD MSRP. The Xbox Elite Wireless Controller Series 2 – Core in white retails at $129.99.
Games and apps library overhaul
You may recall we mentioned thata new UI for the games librarywas being tested in the Xbox Insiders program Alpha Ring. The revamped games library is now available to the public with the Xbox September Update. The new tabbed interface provides a more streamlined view of all your games and apps, and is a much more intuitive system for finding things.
Other new features
Also with this new update, users canselect different install locationsfor different types of games and apps on Xbox One and Series X|S consoles. Games that utilize next-gen optimization could be set to install directly to internal SSD storage, while games that don’t need the benefits of SSD could be stored to say, an external HDD by default, as an example.
Share captures with the Xbox Game Bar on Windows PCwith a new feature that allows you to get a sharable link for you image and video captures. You can share to anywhere: SMS, Twitter, WhatsApp, Messenger, and more. PressWindows key + Gon your keyboard or theXbox buttonon your controller, and chooseCopy linkin the Game Bar gallery. The capture will be uploaded with a shareable link.
Party chat noise suppression—a feature that was implemented for Series X|S consoles earlier this month, now is available for Xbox One and Windows 10 and 11 PCs. And finally, you can nowset up parties in the Xbox App with the new “Start Party” button. Find it in the Social Tab under the new Parties option. Create a new party or restart a prior one, and select which friends to invite.
As you can see, that was quite a lot of new features for Xbox in September. The user experience is always evolving, and it’s exciting to see cool new additions like these being added.
