Microsoft haspublished a message for Chilean usersthat the upcoming time change will break certain features in Windows 7-11 both client and server versions. This is caused by the upcoming Daylight Savings Time (DST) date change. The change was announced on August 9, 2022, that the country’s official time would advance one hour on September 10th instead of the normal September 4th. As a result, users may encounter the following issues.
Customers have a few options to work around the issue. They can apply these options on September 4th and undo them on September 11th.
To mitigate this issue in the Santiago time zone, after 12:00 a.m. on September 11, 2022, and for those in the Easter Islands time zone, after 10:00 p.m. on September 10, 2022, follow the steps below to re-enable automatic DST adjustments and ensure accurate time switching with future DST transitions. This can be done by doing either of the following:
Microsoft posted official documentation about the workaround but says, no other countries should need to make these changes and a patch will be released later this year once further testing is complete.
