Update, July 10 (11:55 a.m. ET): Ubisoft has confirmed the game’s existence with a reminder to tune in to Ubisoft Forward on July 12.
A major upcoming game has been unwittingly revealed, as Far Cry 6 has leaked ahead of theUbisoft Forwardshowcase on July 12. The game leaked via a listing that has now been taken down on theHong Kong PlayStation Store. The listing quite obviously shows actor Giancarlo Esposito in a major cover role, almost certainly as the main villain of the game.
Esposito recentlymentioned in an interviewthat he would be in a “huge” upcoming game. His character is evidently named Anton Castillo, with the boy in the cover art being his son Diego. Players will take on the role Dani Rojas, who is using “makeshift weapons, vehicles, and Amigos” to take on a brutal dictatorship in the “largest” Far Cry setting ever.
The game will also support a free upgrade onPS5if you buy the PS4 version. While not mentioned, there’s no reason to believe the same won’t be true of theXbox Series Xversion as well. The game’s release date is currently set for February 18, 2021.
The Ubisoft Forward presentation is set for July 12 at 12:00 p.m. PT. There’ll be news for Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, an official reveal for Far Cry 6 and more.
