What you need to know
Today, Ubisoft posted its latestfinancial resultsand discussed a number of issues. One of the major ones to come up was the supposed price increase of games. Recently, 2K Games revealed that the next-generation version of NBA 2K21 would cost $70 instead of the regular $60. Gamers have since been wondering if this was going to be the price ofXbox Series Xand PlayStation 5 titles going forward.
We know that Ubisoft won’t be increasing the price of games that are launching between now and Fall 2020. They’re going to stay at $60. However, the company didn’t mention what it’s going to do in the future. Once next generation-only titles are common, the price may jump to $70. We’ll have to see how developers and publishers react in the coming months.
Would you be fine with a $10 jump from $60 to $70? Let us know.
