Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2has been having a bit of a rough month, after announcing that the gamehas been delayed into 2021earlier this month. During the delay announcement, Paradox Interactive also revealed that they hadn’t wished to postpone the game, and that they would be making some organizational changes to help prevent any further delays. It’s not certain if these new layoffs are part of those changes.

Brian Mitsoda, the narrative lead, and Ka’ai Cluney, the creative director, have both been terminated rather suddenly, according to a report atRock Paper Shotgun, which is a dramatic shakeup of the game’s leadership this late into the development cycle. There wasn’t an exact reason provided for the terminations, and Brian Mitsoda said in a statement “that this came as a shock to me is underselling it.”

In order to help the game’s development, Alexandre Mandryka is joining the team as a creative consultant. Alexandre has worked on franchises like Assassin’s Creed and Far Cry, so they certainly have experience under their belt. Hopefully the game won’t see any more delays or issues in the lead up to its new planned release sometime in 2021.

Bloodlines 2 remains available for preorder for PC, PS4, and Xbox One. Paradox and Microsoft have also confirmed that the game willbe enhancedfor theXbox Series Xand will be supported byXbox Smart Delivery. It’s also being enhanced onPS5.

Maintain the masquerade

Branching narratives are becoming increasingly rare, but Bloodlines 2 revives the tradition in the midst of a violent faction war between the Vampire elite in Seattle. As a newbie, it’s on you to navigate this dark world and hopefully come out on top.
