The weather determines how we carry ourselves every day in every aspect of life from farming to dressing. This is why weather forecasting is very important.

It allows us to prepare early enough for what’s coming be it good tidings or adverse weather conditions that require elaborate measures to be put in place to prevent extensive damage and loss of life.

Microsoft’s Weather from Microsoft Start has particularly been resourceful. It has even received recognition from the Director of NOAA’s National Weather Service for the same recently.

In an independent study commissioned by Microsoft to be conducted by ForecastWatch to determine how effective and efficient the tool is in comparison to the top global weather providers, it emerged that the company’s Weather from Microsoft Start was “the most accurate weather forecasting service.”

Microsoft attributes this success to the past two years where it has worked tirelessly to enhance the tool’s capabilities by leveraging “industry-leading machine learning, AI, and other innovative technologies.” Weather from Microsoft Start was also at the top of the list when it comes to making accurate high temperature, low temperature, and wind speed predictions.

The company further added that:

Built right into Windows, Weather from Microsoft Start is accompanied by an intelligent, personalized feed that delivers up-to-the-minute weather information, for free. In addition to severe weather alerts, Weather from Microsoft Start provides precise weather information to help users make better decisions for their lifestyles, health, jobs and activities – including accurate 10-day global weather forecasts updated multiple times every hour.
