Key notes

Microsoft is definitely thinking about Android users. Windows Subsystem for Android has been gettinga lot of quality updates lately.

You don’t have to worry about viruses and malware anymore, because now every app will be automatically scanned by anti-virus software. You can also assign the RAM memory however you like, according to the recent updates.

However, there are a lot of people wondering if you can access the SD card on WSA. On the official Microsoft forum, there is a thread on this topic, with one user asking if it’s possible.

I have successfully installed the Windows Subsystem for Android (WSA), and also successfully installed several applications from the Amazon App Store. I am using a Microsoft Surface Go 3 tablet with a SD Card installed. I’ve been unable to save files from Android applications to the SD Card. The SD Card does not even show up in the Android File explorer. Just the “Subsystem for Android”. Is it possible to mount an SD Card so that Android apps can access?

The answer, unfortunately, is negative, so far at least. There isn’t any official info on how to access the SD card on WSA, but if we talk about the recent love Microsoft has shown to WSA, you might be able to enjoy this feature soon.

Speaking of updates, Microsoft released the 2304.40000.5.0 WSA update for Windows 11. It will focus on adding package verification, improved reliability, and AppLink support.

Below you can see see all the changes:

With that being said, Microsoft is also open to feedback for WSA. In the Feedback Hub, which you can access by typingWindows+F, you can write your ideas and suggestions and submit them to the Redmond tech giant.

And if you’re thinking about accessing the SD card on WSA, make sure to let them know. It will be most likely implemented in the near future if there is enough feedback on this issue. Either way, we will pay close attention, and if anything comes up about it, we will let you know.
