We finally get to know the hardware and software at the top of the list, that is, the most used by PC gamers, thanks to Steam’s annual survey. Based onJanuary’s 2022 results, Windows 11 rose by 3.41% to 13.56% total usage. Windows 10, meanwhile, experienced a 3.92% drop to 77.82% usage on Steam, and Windows 7 rose by 0.49% leading it to take up 3.73% of share on Steam.
On the other hand, Intel has sincelost its 69.27% CPU share, which saw it drop down to 68.93%. AMD managed to take up 31.07%. NVIDIA also experienced a slight drop from last year’s 76.83% to 75.4% GPU control.
VR Headset
Oculus Quest 2 remains at the top of the chain taking up 46.02% of Steam’s population headset hardware share, on the other hand, Windows Mixed Reality has dropped since December’s report from 5.69% to 4.99%. Oculus Rift S takes up 13.1% andValve Index HMD takes 14.36% of the pool.
Meta is deeply rooted in winning a huge chunk of the share, which will allow for theestablishment of a Metaverse. In that regard, its Oculus Quest 2 is expected to take up even more of Steam’s population headset hardware pool.
