Key notes

Windows 11 is a much-talked-about OS and it is no secret that Microsoft has been trying to make Windows 11 occupy more space in the market. One of the ways that Microsoft is trying to do this is by forcing users to update their devices.

Till now, we have seen users complaining about Windows 10 updates but now, it has come to light that even Windows 11 users are complaining about being forced tomake updates on their Windows 11 devices.

Microsoft has admitted that it is automatically downloading big software updates to devices running Windows 10 and Windows 11 but says the process is necessary.

Workaround

The company added that users who do not want the updates can turn off automatic downloads, although some have argued this does not work.

Users have been reporting that they are being forced to make the update even if they don’t want to. It appears like users will be having no say in the matter and they will be forced to update their Windows 11 devices.

Unexpected update

The issue wasreported by a number of users on Redditand Microsoft’s forums, with those affected stating that their PC was restarting or going into a reboot loop when they were not expecting it.

One user notes that he tried to delay upgrading but immediately found himself presented with another notification for the Anniversary Update. Furthermore, even though he chose not to install it at that time, he received a message saying his PC would be upgraded anyway in 24 hours.

Have you gotten the compulsory update on your Windows 11 devices? Share your thoughts with us in the comment section.
