Yesterday we reported thatXbox Cloud Gaming on Linuxoperating systems was noticeably underperforming in comparison to Windows. This was first brought to light by a Reddit user who posted about his findings after testing the streaming service on both Manjaro (a Linux distro) and Windows.

There’s an update on the situation from a another Reddit user, u/CohenJordan, who is apparently a member of the Xbox Cloud Gaming team. He goes on to explain that the issue is a purely technical one deriving from the fact that Linux is not technically a supported platform for Xbox Cloud Gaming. u/CohenJordan added that the team wants everyone to have the best game streaming experience possible regardless of OS.

As we reported yesterday, the drop in image quality while utilizing Xbox Cloud Gaming on Linux can be remedied by using Edge Browser’s Clarity Boost feature.
