Sea of Thievesis developed by British studio Rare, which of course was long associated with Nintendo before being acquired by Microsoft in 2002. Rare’s partnership with Nintendo produced a string of games that have since become classics, so its no surprise to see the team at Rare give a nod to its former publishing partner.
