Next-gen AAA titles like Halo Infinite and Forza Horizon 5 and great and all. But now, over a year and a half after its release, it looks like theXbox Series X|S has finally arrived now that it has the ability to run Windows 98. And along with it, classic PC games like Quake, Half-life, Turok and so on.

This is thanks to the DOSBox Pure emulator and Retroarch frontend. Using these programs, the folks over at Digital Foundry were able to accomplish the feat and shared a video of it.

Just imagine all the great classic titles you could now play on your Series X|S alongside Halo Infinite: Starcraft, Myst, Baldur’s Gate, Micrsoft Flight Simulator 98, and the list goes on.

The folks at Archades Games (viaEurogamer.net) have released avideo of their own which demonstrates how to install Retroarch on the Xbox Series X|S.

While it is uber-cool to see Xbox Series X|S running Windows 98 and all those classic games, the feature is likely to have more of a niche appeal. What are your thoughts on the Xbox Series X|S running Windows 98? Is it something you would be interested in? Let us know in the comments.
